The brief
Enginess needed an animated holiday card to send to clients and partners at the end of each year. The card had to feel fresh and on-theme for that specific season, while still reading unmistakably as Enginess - same brand colours, same warmth, same level of polish year over year.
Because this repeated annually, the real challenge was not a single animation but building a repeatable approach that could scale across four years without feeling templated.
The process
Each year started from the year's message and a short moodboard, then moved into Illustrator for the key art so every shape stayed crisp and on-brand.
Animation happened in After Effects, reusing a shared system of timing, easing and brand elements so the cards felt like a family while each told its own story.
Revisions were handled in tight feedback loops - a quick reference or mockup first, then the polished result - to keep turnaround fast during a busy season.
The outcome
A four-year run of holiday cards (2021-2024) that stayed visually consistent while keeping each year distinct, and a relationship where the client returned season after season.
